eMeter Corp. has released SmartStart, which the company describes as an option for utilities to accelerate the implementation of their meter-to-cash and consumer functions using pre-configured versions of eMeter's EnergyIP meter data management system and Energy Engage consumer engagement software.

Available as a hosted or on-premise solution, SmartStart provides utilities with meter-to-cash features such as real-time data validation estimation and editing (VEE), time-of-use billing support and real-time synchronization of AMI and utility information systems. Also, with the Energy Engage software, utilities' customers will be able to access detailed views of their energy usage and costs.

The company says that through SmartStart, utilities can implement eMeter solutions within 12 weeks and have access to an integrated and operational system for user acceptance testing in as little as six to eight weeks.

"The approach, based on our proven best practices, equips utilities with the required flexibility to enable scaling, future functionality and adaptation to regulatory and technological change," says Cree Edwards, CEO of eMeter.
