OPOWER says it has enhanced its energy efficiency Web portal to allow customers to see what portion of their energy use is attributable to home heating. The company is initially working with participants of Puget Sound Energy's (PSE) energy reporting program to demonstrate the enhancement.
The OPOWER Web portal now highlights how much of a customer's energy use is related to heating and how that figure compares to neighbors' use. The portal also provides customized energy-saving tips to help customers increase their energy efficiency.
"We're excited to deepen our relationship with PSE by rolling out the next generation of our Web platform to their customers," says Dan Yates, CEO of OPOWER.
OPOWER notes that the Web portal's new functionality is powered by daily meter reads of PSE electric and natural gas meters. No additional devices are installed inside customers' homes.
