The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition (DRSG) says it has met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and other members of the House delegation to COP-15 in Copenhagen to provide an overview of key smart grid concepts and technologies.
In addition to talking about the "intertwinement of smart grid and climate change," the DRSG says it discussed how smart grid investment has the potential to reduce energy costs and create new jobs.
"This was a great opportunity to be helpful to the Congress," says Dan Delurey, executive director of the DRSG. "As the leaders of the world come together [to] negotiate a climate change agreement, it is important that they all understand the role that smart grid can play in achievement of climate change goals."
