Teradata Corp. has developed two new products - the Utilities Logical Data Model (uLDM) and Teradata Accelerate for Credit and Collections for Utilities - designed specifically for the energy industry.
The uLDM helps utilities identify data integrity problems and provides comprehensive documentation of data definitions and attributes, the company says. The tool is particularly well-suited for utilities that are implementing large-scale advanced metering infrastructure projects.
Teradata Accelerate for Credit and Collections for Utilities is a bundled software package designed to assist energy companies in managing credit risk with high-risk customers through the analysis of payment histories, propensities to pay and economic data. The product models residential customer behavior using typical consumer indicators of increasing risk, Teradata says.
Concurrently, the company announced a partnership with Itron Inc. to create Active SmartGrid Analytics. This software platform, which comprises Teradata's Active Enterprise Data Warehouse and uLDM products and the Itron Enterprise Edition Meter Data Management (IEE MDM) tool, allows energy companies to access integrated customer, financial and operational information, as well as to perform advanced analytics on data without affecting operational activities.
