HNU Energy, International Battery Partner On Integrated Solar/Energy Storage System | in News Departments > Projects & Contracts | by Renew Grid on Monday 08 February 2010 | International Battery and HNU Energy are working together on a solar power generation and energy storage project in Maui, Hawaii, that will assess the effectiveness of storing solar energy using new battery technology.
The system comprises 60 224 W photovoltaic panels, a bi-directional three-phase inverter system and a charge controller network. International Battery is supplying a 48 V, 16.4 kWh lithium-ion-based energy storage system, complete with battery management and controls, to store the energy. The energy storage system also includes four battery modules totaling 32 160 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells and a battery management system (BMS) that is integrated into a standard 19" portable rack-mount chassis and enclosure, International Battery says.
