Cooper Power, CGI Focusing On Distribution Management Solutions | in News Departments > FYI | by Renew Grid on Thursday 18 March 2010 | Cooper Power Systems and CGI Group Inc. have formed a partnership to offer active distribution management solutions to utilities that are deploying smart grid projects. The companies say these systems integrate distributed monitoring and intelligence over different types of communications networks to monitor and automate the electrical grid.
"Today's utilities need modular and scalable solutions that can be deployed incrementally, while at the same time have the flexibility to integrate newer concepts and legacy systems," says Cooper Power Systems' Tom Pitstick. "Together with CGI we now offer an integrated energy network solution."
"CGI's PragmaSMART portfolio of mission-critical solutions and systems integration expertise complements the broad spectrum of Cooper Power Systems smart grid innovations," adds Andre Bouchard, vice president of CGI’s utility solutions and services sector.
